Woodward Fab’s Step-by-step Guide to Assembling the Manual Pipe & Tube Bending Machine

In manufacturing or metalworking industries, pipe and tube bender equipment are required to achieve precise wrinkle-free bends. You can set the required angle of bending by a particular setting in this equipment.

In order to use this equipment efficiently, you need to ensure that proper installation and assembly of the equipment is done. Woodward Fab is one of the leading and experienced manufacturers of various metalworking tools and equipment. One such equipment from the company is the WFB2 manual tube and pipe bending equipment. This post will help you understand step-by-step how to assemble this equipment. We have also embedded a video below for your reference, and to help you understand the installation process better. Read on to know more.

How to Assemble the WFB2 Manual Pipe and Tube Bender Machine from Woodward Fab?

Manual pipe and tube bender

Here is your step-by-step guide to assembling the WFB2 manual tube and pipe benders efficiently:

Step 1: Positioning

This is the very first step of assembly. When assembling the bender, it is important to ensure that the positioning of the holes and the fixed arm is proper. For a proper assembly, you should note that the holes present on the swing arm side of the frame point in the same direction as that of the fixed arms.

Step 2: Installing the Movable Arms

Once you have ensured the proper positioning of the holes, install the movable arms of the bending equipment on one side.

Step 3: Installing the Die Set

There is a center pin on the other side of the equipment. This pin is also referred as the main pin. Make sure that the bolts holding this pin are loosened, and that the pin can move up and down easily. Now, remove the center pin, and install the main die set (you can refer to the video given below). Tighten the bolts to the frame so that the die gets fixed firmly in place. The main die set is the one which gives the required bend to the pipe or tube.

Step 3: Installing the Follower Die

Next, comes the follower die, and the retaining clip. Now you can install the follower die and the retaining clip. The follower die travels forward during the bending process, and helps reduce the drag.

Step 4: Degree Ring & Pointer Assembly

This is the final step in assembling the WFB2 manual bender equipment. As a last step, install the degree ring below the main die. The bolts are provided for installation. After you are done installing the degree ring, you should install the pointer assembly, which will help you select the desired degree to which the pipe or tube is required to bend.

We hope that the post helped you in assembling the WFB2 manual pipe and tube bending machine from Woodward Fab, which is one of the leaders in manufacturing equipment for the metalworking industry. If you have any queries related to the assembly process or the equipment, we are always ready with the solution.
